3. Black & Decker Steam Mop
Features: 1300w – Ready to use in 15 Seconds – 180 Degree Pivoting Head – 6m Power Cord – 2.7kg
- 7 different functions with the one device.
- Plenty of accessories are included with this mop.
- It is very lightweight in comparison to a lot of the other models on the market.
- This steam mop isn’t very powerful.
The first steam mop that we would like to add to our list is this one from Black & Decker. Black & Decker are a huge name in home and garden appliances, so we expected to be quite pleased with this steam mop and we weren’t disappointed.
In terms of the design, the main thing that we liked with this one is how lightweight it is. At only 2.7kg in weight it is considerably lighter than a lot of the other options on the market at the moment. Next, we were very impressed with the fact that this steam mop offers 7 different functions in the one device.
We found using this steam mop no trouble at all; it is very easy to manoeuvre and the 180 degree pivoting head allows you to get into all of the tight spaces in your home. However, the one thing that we did find is that it is not very powerful. It only has a 1300w motor which is quite weak in comparison to the competition.
Although it isn’t very powerful, it does come with a good range of accessories, it is easy to use and we were very satisfied with the results. If you are looking for an affordable steam mop that does the job, then this one from Black & Decker is a good choice.
2. Karcher FC5 Steam Mop

- This steam mop is very easy to use.
- It is able to vacuum as well as wash the floors in your home.
- It has a very long 7m power cable so it is perfect for larger rooms.
- It has quite a low capacity water tank of only 0.4L.
- It is quite a heavy steam mop.
When it comes to cleaning floors, one brand that always seems to pop up is Karcher, so when we had the opportunity to test out a Karcher steam mop we jumped at the chance. Given the fact that it is at number 2 on our list, you have probably already guessed that we were very pleased with it.
The design of this particular steam mop is very much what we have come to expect from Karcher, even down to the bright yellow colour. There are a couple of things that made us really like this steam mop. First of all, we really liked the fact that we were able to vacuum as well as wash the floors.
Using the steam mop was no problem at all; switching between the different functions is easy and changing the roller is no problem either. We also really liked the extra-long 7m power cord. We found that this enabled us to move around larger rooms with ease.
There were a couple of negative aspects that are worth mentioning. First of all, we felt that the capacity of the water tank was a little small at only 0.4L. However, this still produced a surprising amount of steam. The other issue that we had was the weight of the steam mop.
It is quite heavy at 4.9kg, especially in comparison to the previous model on our list. We suspect that it might make moving around difficult if you have a lot of hard floors in your home to clean. However, for smaller homes this Karcher steam mop is a great choice.

Number one on our list today goes to this Bissell steam mop. We were thoroughly satisfied with this one and would absolutely recommend it to everyone. First of all, we loved the fact that there are so many different things that you can do with this mop.
Not only are you able to vacuum, but you can also polish and wash a variety of different surfaces including wood, lino and vinyl. We tried this steam mop on all of the recommend surface types and we were really pleased with the results.
Another thing that we liked is the smart touch controls with this steam mop. We found that it made using the mop no trouble at all and it was a lot easier to get our heads around all of the different functions. Of course, there were a couple of downsides that are worth noting.
